About Me

Hi! I’m Polly, and I can’t wait to read your manuscript. I am new to the book editing world, but not new to the world of books. I have loved to read for as long as I can remember. Prior to becoming a book editor, I was an elementary school teacher in both London, England and Los Angeles, California. I taught first, fifth, and sixth grades, and did many different types of editing work for my students. I now live in Los Angeles with my husband and three sons. Beta Reading

I will read your manuscript and give general feedback. You will receive some margin notes as well as a two-page summary of feedback. I can answer any specific questions you have or read your manuscript with a specific focus in mind. We can also have a call to discuss your manuscript. This is not an editing service.

Copyediting

I will read your manuscript and look for grammatical issues and typos, as well as continuity errors. I will check that everything makes sense! Before we get started, I will provide a sample edit so we can both be clear on our editing expectations. You will receive a style sheet and an edited manuscript.

I will read your manuscript and offer feedback about story structure, pacing, and character development. Whether you're working on your first draft or revising a completed manuscript, my goal is to help you shape a compelling, cohesive narrative that engages readers from beginning to end. You will receive in-manuscript comments as well as an editorial letter.
