About Me

Hi! I’m Polly, and I can’t wait to read your manuscript. I am new to the book editing world, but not new to the world of books. I have loved to read for as long as I can remember. Prior to becoming a book editor, I was an elementary school teacher in both London, England and Los Angeles, California. I taught first, fifth, and sixth grades, and did many different types of editing work for my students. I now live in Los Angeles with my husband and three sons, Freddie (6), Hugo (4), and Albie (2). My favorite genres to read are romance novels, rom coms, and thrillers. Read a bit more about me here.

Beta Reading

I will read your manuscript and give general feedback. You will receive some margin notes as well as a two-page summary of feedback. I can answer any specific questions you have or read your manuscript with a specific focus in mind. We can also have a call to discuss your manuscript. This is not an editing service.

Copyediting

I will read your manuscript and look for grammatical issues and typos, as well as continuity errors. I will be checking that everything makes sense! Before we get started, I will provide a sample edit so we can both be clear on our editing expectations. You will receive a style sheet and an edited manuscript.
